Molecular Devices™ Imaging Systems
You rely on your equipment. Your equipment should rely on ATG.
At Analytical Technologies Group, we provide dedicated maintenance and repair services of imaging systems, including the ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai and ImageXpress Nano platforms from Molecular Devices. By concentrating on this specialized line of high-content imaging systems and maintaining a deep inventory of service parts, we ensure rapid fixes and minimal operational downtime.
Instruments of this sophistication depend on routine, expert care to deliver consistent performance. When neglected, even minor issues can halt imaging throughput entirely. More than 5,000 customers rely on ATG to keep their ImageXpress systems running flawlessly and their labs operating at full capacity. You should too.

Tips for keeping your Molecular Devices™ Imaging System in good working order:
Always turn the power switch off and disconnect the power cord from the main power source before you use liquids to clean the instrument.
Periodically clean the outside surfaces of the instrument using a lint-free cloth that has been lightly dampened with a 70% ethanol or 0.5% bleach solution.
If needed, clean the microplate carrier by placing a lint-free cloth that has been lightly dampened with a 70% ethanol or 0.5% bleach solution on the mechanism and letting it soak for approximately 30 minutes.
If a bleach solution has been used, wipe the instrument using a lint-free cloth that has been lightly dampened with water to remove the bleach residue.
To prevent damaging internal components, do not pour or squirt water or alcohol directly onto the instrument.
Do not use organic solvents.

Molecular Devices™ Imaging Systems Troubleshooting Tips:
Irregular fluorescence or inconsistent image intensity is often due to illumination instability or optical path issues:
Allow the illumination source (LED or laser, depending on model) to fully stabilize after warm-up (typically 10–15 minutes).
Inspect the light path for dust, fiber-optic problems, or mechanical misalignment.
Re-run illumination calibration if intensity variation exceeds the system’s specifications.
Focus instability can silently degrade entire datasets:
Test both hardware autofocus and image-based autofocus using a reference slide or plate.
Ensure that plates are flat and that well bottoms are free of debris or manufacturing defects.
Verify that autofocus settings (e.g., offset, search range) match the plate type and imaging modality.
For confocal-capable models (ImageXpress HT.ai and ImageXpress Micro Confocal):
Check confocal optical sectioning parameters—such as disk/pinhole alignment or slice thickness—if contrast is unexpectedly low or AF algorithms struggle.
