Check and fill the calibrant bottle weekly if you tune the instrument frequently, or if the calibrant has expired.
Clean the nebulizer on a weekly basis by passing the vapors of solvents like IPA, methanol, acetonitrile, or water through the LC/MS system.

To correct for overpressure:
Back flush your column.
Clear blocked frit by reversing flush with a strong solvent.
Wash your column by eliminating column contamination and clearing blocked packing.
If you are finding ghost peaks:
Check your solven bottles (make sure they are not flushed or specific for MS applications)
Check your solvents (use MS grade solvents from reliable suppliers)
Check your degasser (flush all solvent channels with aqueous and organic solvents, switch channels for troubleshooting)
